Joe Andersons Joe began his audio engineering journey in 2009 when he began studying an Advanced Diploma in Audio Engineering. During that time, Joe began performing in bands as well as recording at the local TAFE campus and multiple houses. It was here where he would gain experience recording demos and EP’s for bands from within New South Wales. Since then, he has taken on projects for his own band and recently recorded Suburban Haze’s Silent, Go Home as well as Wollongong based band, Jacob, and their debut self-titled album. Joe’s obsession for music started as a child when he was often taken to see live music. He shortly realised how much passion and emotion can be carried through music and he often spent hours and hours listening to bands shown to him by his parents and older brothers. These included The Pixies, The Cure, AFI, B.B. King, Bob Marley, Leonard Cohen, Metallica and various others. This wide variety of music has shaped Joe’s views on mixing and sound to focus on the performance and natural sound of the artists, while capturing their ideas as true to how they imagined them, as possible. Joe surrounds himself with music both local and international on a daily basis and is always looking for new sounds and tones while figuring out exactly how they were created. Joe believes that music is something that is felt from the heart and mind as much as it is heard by the ears, because of this, Joe is always eager to take on projects of any shape and size. From a simple single to an album epic, nothing is too big, too small or too weird.
